Sea to Summit 2015 takes place this Saturday and as I sit here resting, wondering what I would do with myself if I couldn’t train, I am trying to think of a new race strategy or plan that might just give me an edge or at least a better time than last year. The formguide by expert Paul Mahon can be seen here.

There is no doubt I am considered an outside chance but can I compete again with these top five to ten guys. I am confident that I am fit and ready to race. Training has been for the most part good and even though I haven’t been in the mountains too much I hope my bike work will pay off. I lost an incredible 10 minutes to the top 3 on the bike here last year and I don’t plan on the same again.
The weather could yet play a part and in one way I hope its a tough day out there as it might just improve my chances!
A big shout out to my girlfriend, Emma, who is doing her first ever adenture race. She has trained a lot the past few weeks and all going well she will enjoy it. I want to also mention a work colleague, Kevin, who despite a bad knee injury, and a serious lack of training due to this, is still going ahead with the race. As I always say it is the people who put the heads down in tough times and battle through that deserve the most credit.
What lies ahead!
