Damp 5km

A great 5km run on home turf in Oranmore tonight. I felt absolutely awful for most of the run after a headcold over the last few days. Everything was out of sync but I managed a good time and I am feeling better for it. It was great to do something different and experience a fast race. It was also nice to do a race where I knew so many faces and meet so many good runners from the local area. A 5th place finish in my first ever 5k race and a time I can definately work on in the future.

The race was organised by my gym, Club Vitae, and by one of my best mates Hugh O Neill. Thanks for a well organised event and I hope to take on the course with some decent preparation next year !

I am hoping to get back on the bike tomorrow and over the next few days get the legs moving again after a bit of a lull. The football has been fun over the last week but I need to get a few sessions under my belt with the Achill Roar adventure race on Saturday week. Gaelforce West took alot out of me and preparation has been poor for Achill but the summers training should stand to me in the end.

Results from tonight can be found in the link below.
